Discussion:
YoSucker 79 not downloading all messages?

Recently I noticed I didn't have nearly enough email from Yahoo. So I
checked, and sure enough, a bunch of emails were being ignored by YoSucker.
When it would run, it would simply say

Using jon.conf
Login OK.
INBOX
-> Reading list of messages...
-> Matching repository...
-> No new messages.
Logout OK.

I deleted my repository, and tried again, and this time it ran and said
there were 20000 emails to download (which is not possible, as there's about
8000+ messages in my Yahoo account.) It downloaded about a hundred messages,
and then it failed with "Couldn't connect to server." It did get some of
the new messages when it did this, but not all of them.

Any ideas on why it's ignoring some (but not all) of my new messages?

Also, does pr77 and above require the new Yahoo! beta, or is it just
compatible with it? I'm not running the beta, so maybe that's a problem?

Hi Jon,

Look into the LIMIT feature - that is the cause of some of your
messages being "ignored"...
YoSucker doesn't need YM BETA, only supports it, sort of...
YoSucker won't be able to download all of your 8000+ at once as Yahoo
will log you out/time-out after some time... Use high LIMIT (e.g. 50
or 100) and re-run YoSucker (in a shell script for example) to get all
your messages... and/or try SNEAKYSLEEP feature...
Maybe there's some more elegant solution? Anyone?
Reading through the docs/ directory may make things clearer for you...
Good luck!
I'm no longer here... I promise.

Thanks, Vlad! That was it. I had the LIMIT set to 25. I was under the
impression that YoSucker only pulled down unread messages. I didn't realize
it looked at all of them, and only the first page at that. Cranking it up to
100 got the messages it was missing.

I've been running SneakySleep for a while. Very handy feature!

Back up and running. Is there any way to ask YS to pull down only unread
messages? I know for example you can change the view in Yahoo! mail to only
show unread. So maybe it could emulate that?
